La Santísima Muerte
The folk saint of the final passage, and of everyone the world forgot.
She goes by many names. La Flaquita, La Niña Blanca, La Señora, La Huesuda. However you first heard of her, the devotion is old, and it lives most strongly in Mexico, though her devotees now number in the millions across the Americas and beyond.
What draws people to her is simple. She does not ask who you are before she listens. The rich, the poor, the devout, the fallen, the ones the churches turned away, she receives them the same. Death comes for everyone without exception, and so her devotion carries no exception either.
“A todos esperas. A nadie desprecias.”You wait for all. You scorn no one.
She is most often shown as a robed skeleton, and every object she holds carries a meaning.
This site is not a church and speaks for no institution. It is a room kept open for those who hold her close, a place to light a flame, to ask, and to give thanks when the asking is answered.
This site runs on the support of its devotees. If it has helped you, you may leave an offering here.
This is not a charity. Your gift keeps the site running. More about supporting the shrine
